Urbina? Still in Florida?

Postby ferris182 » Sat Feb 07, 2004 3:39 am

Did Urbina get signed yet? I haven't heard anything. Is Florida going to re-sign him to split w/ Benitez?
Any other possible teams?

my bet is that urbina signs with sanfrancisco
if not the giants he'll either go to the twins or pirates
most likely wont resign with marlins

i'd like to see the tigers sign him so he and pudge could be reunited

I hope he dosen't go to the Twins. I hope Nathan will get/keep the job.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

Here is another recent thread on Urbina:
http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30425

I just read that the Pirates are pursuing Urbina.

With three spots open on their 40-man roster, the Pirates would like to sign Ugueth Urbina, Raul Mondesi and either Travis Lee or Randall Simon.
The Expos seem to be the only other team actively pursuing Urbina right now, but the closer has said he would rather sit out the season than play for less than he's worth. The Pirates seem certain to sign one of the three hitters. Craig Wilson fans should hope that they don't land Mondesi and a first baseman.

I really hope the Marlins don't sign him. I just drafted Benitez and I really need him to anchor my team. I don't think the Tigers will sign him either, they are trying to develop two young closers and I think they will stick to that plan.

If I-rod wasn't allowed to sign with the Fish until later this year, than the same thing should go for urbina.

Trevisc is like the most moronic roto baller I have ever seen. No one should take what he says seriously. The guy doesnt know jack about fantasy baseball. Why is he even allowed to post. He knows less than most of the idiot newbies around here and thats tough to do.
