Might be similar to when the Yanks used Pettitte in relief earlier this year. They said it was the equivalent of his side session. :-?

the way he's been pitching, he should be demoted to the bullpen!

I think it's because he wanted to let off some rustiness from his last start and keep him set for his next matchup against pittsburgh.

i read something about him not picthing for 6 days, sounded like they just wanted to get him some work
