Am I the only one left hanging on to him? Not really an add drop question, just trying to get some opinions.
Here are his current minor league numbers (169 AB):
.266, 9 HR, 9 BB, 31 K, .304 OBP, .467 SLG, .771 OPS.
Breaking it down a little
more:v. L (61 AB)
.295, 4HR, 3BB, 4K, .338/.557 for a .896 OPS
v. R (108 AB)
.250, 5 HR, 6 BB, 27K, .284/.417 for a .701 OPS
Lets not forget his stellar MLB numbers (221 AB):
.204/.270/.367 for a stellar .637 OPS
BP lists his comparables as: Ron Santo, Hank Blalock, Tom Evans, Edwin Encarnacion, and Joe Crede. Not exactly a stellar group, but not too bad either. However, BP projects his MLVr over the next five years to be negative (0.000 is an average player) and VORP around 11-12. I'll
link his player card since it's free week at BP.
He is still only 23. Frankly, at this point, he is a long way removed from his good season at age 20 in AAA, and age 21 season in AAA. Anyone out there think he is going to become anything other than a bench player, if that?
In my fridge: Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS), Central Waters Peruvian Morning, Bell's Batch 10,000, Dale's Pale Ale, Capital Brewery Amber, New Glarus Moon Man, and Guinness.
