News: The Rockies put RP Brian Fuentes on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 4 for a mild back strain. He last pitched July 3 against the Mets, retiring all three batters he faced, two by strikeouts. He could be activated from the DL on Thursday against the Nationals. To take Fuentes' roster spot, Colorado called up infielder Omar Quintanilla from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Analysis: Fuentes, the Rockies' closer for most of the season, had 20 saves in 26 opportunities but blew four straight saves during a road trip and was demoted. Fuentes, who has a 4.06 ERA in 40 appearances, was selected to the National League All-Star roster for the third consecutive year but did not play. Keep Fuentes reserved in all Fantasy leagues through Week 16 (July 16-22). He will likely regain the role as closer at some point this season, but that date has yet to be determined.
