Acevedo
McDougal
Wickman
Rodney

Safest bet:
Kolb

Have the job, but it could be ugly:
Looper (Awful numbers, but will be the closer)
Chacon (I think he's got the job, who knows what will happen)
McDougal (I don't trust him. Let someone else worry.)

Great if they get the job:
Speier (could be the best of the bunch if he gets the job)
C. Cordero (ditto - may get a shot in Spring Training)

Question Marks:
Marte (will put up good numbers even if he doesn't close. Either Koch or Marte are trade bait if the ChiSox are out of it. Will Guillen be more patient than Manuel?)
Graves (?)
Wickman (?)

Kolb - He converted 18 straight save opportunities last year in his short stint as closer. Team is not great but 30+ possible

I'll fall in with the crowd and say Kolb, though I think Wickman may be a good choice too. He didn't pitch in the Majors at all last season due to injury. He was the Indians' closer the year before. They are saying the job is his to lose this year. Either of them are worth 20+ saves this season. You flip the coin! :-o

Ok, it seems that almost everyone recommends Klob. What round do you think I should take him in a 16 team keeper league?

I'm in the 10th round right now.

I have noticed over the years in my fantasy leagues, that most of the people that use a first round pick on a closer, only draft that one closer for their team. They then draft later on some middle relievers for extra saves ERA, WHIP, and K's. This actually allows them to be competitive in the saves dept., but they never win the catagory.

I would rather spend my 8th and 9th picks on two mid level guys who will get around 30 saves than spend my number one pick on a closer who will get me 50 saves and a slightley better era.

I would probably try to take Kolb around the 14th or 15th. Its almost imposssible to say though because every draft has runs on certain positions. You just have to make a judgement call on how long he will be out there. it seems as if there are plenty if others if kolb goes
