It looks cool, but can you give some general intro info about it? Advantages and probably more importantly, any disadvantages to the OS and this distro?
Thanks.
Sure...I've used linux but this one is different.
Advantage: Every Software application you need on the Live DVD for install free
Advantage: Less of a resource hog then windows
Advantage: You can type in emerge -s and query for any download or update to anything in a database 10,000 programs strong. Then you can emerge the file which downloads it and installs it for you automatically.
Advantage: Automatic Hardware recognition. This version of linux worked with my Wifi and Vid card out of the box.
Advantage: its free
Advantage: Its updated a few times a year
Advantage: Linux tech support is usually via forum and the people who know it REALLY know it.
Advantage: Desktop looks frickin awesome
Disadvantages: not for the technologically retarded
Disadvantages: Obscure hardware doesn't get automatically detected
Disadvantages: Main stream software usually doesn't work with it. HOwever, nerds make lots of equal occassionally better software.
