Well, consider his minor league averages were usually around .230, I wouldn't get too excited about him. That's just me though.

my team

Postby baseball_playa18 » Sat Feb 07, 2004 12:58 pm

1b: Helton and Millar
2B: Michael Young
SS: A-Rod
3B: Mueller and Hinske
C: Matt LECroy
Lf: Carlos Lee and Geoff Jenkins
CF: Scott Podsednik and Jhonny Damon
RF: Vlad
SP: Kerry Wood, Zito, Kevin Brown, Moyer, Derek Lowe, Gil Meche, John Lackey, Brian Lawrence, and Darrel May
RP: Mantei, Urbina, and Danny Graves

Other than the backup RF spot, i have one more draft pick. What should i go for? another hitter, sp, or rp? its a 10 team, 26 player league so my options will be limited. any suggestions? thanks for everyone's help.

I'd go with Drew because of his potential.

Has Jay Gibbons already been taken? If not, he's a much better choice than either of the two you're listing. I carried Dye for about three weeks last season when he came of the DL and he stunk up the joint.

I would look for about any other possibility besides these two.

other names...

gibbons was taken a long time ago, a lot earlier than he should have been taken. as far as catcher is concerned there isnt much left...just benito santiago. since lecroy is eligible at C i think he will be really godo for me since he is going to be the Twins DH this year. At closer i think every team's closer has been taken except the tigers. felix rodriguez is available, i heard where he might close if nen cant play. also chad bradford, latroy hawkins and damaso marte are available. in the OF in general theres some left but now much. mondesi, grissom, finley, jacque jones, shannon stewart, cameron, m. bradley, a.sanchez, cruz jr, catalonotto, guiel, and davannon is all left in the top 250.

I would probably go with either Jacque Jones or Shannon Stewart.

I would take Mondesi or Finley before I would Drew or Dye.
Also Herges will get the nod to close when Nen can't make spring training.

what about Jason Bay or Tike Redman ... ??

Also there was a couple of stories floating around here that LeCroy will not be the DH full time or for the whole season.. Worth looking into .. IMO
