If Pete Rose can't be in the HoF why can Bonds?

Rose pissed me off. I always liked him until I saw his true colors. He knew what he was doing despite seeing signs in the clubhouse, denied it for years, took every opportunity to declare his innocence to everyone with a camera, and then came clean after more than a decade. And he wonders why he isn't in the HOF?? Whether it's petty or not, I laugh at the fact that he basically agreed to a lifetime ban thinking that it would be lifted.
