Burks headed back to Boston

Postby WebHamster » Thu Feb 05, 2004 1:00 pm

Ellis Burks is returning to the team that drafted him over 20 years ago as the Boston Red Sox have signed the designated hitter/outfielder to a 2004 contract.

Burks is a great addition off the bench but won't be much as a starter.

hes gonna hit mostly against lefties as hes been killer in hitting lefthanders throughout his career. he probably will play more of a role with Nixon out.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
