chavez or rolen?

Postby Captain Jack Sparrow » Thu Feb 05, 2004 12:28 pm

i'm tinkering with a draft strategy that requires me to take the best 3B-man. Who do you choose?

I'm thinking rolen because of the line-up he hits in. any advice?

I like Rolen this year due to lineup protection. Overall numbers should be close and I have seen them go either way in mock drafts.

this is a tough question. I like chavez better but Rolen gets more steals.

It's really a toss up but I think Chavez has more power and after this year (or even by the All-star break) he won't be in Oakland anymore so his numbers could get even better...

I say Chavez

Here's a link to a previous discussion of this question.

Quick summary of my answer:

One year league: Rolen
Keeper league: Chavez

I'd take Rolen, he's in a much better lineup and has lots of protection (Edmonds, Pujols).

Chavez has Jermaine Dye as protection assuming Dye will bounce back
