its more ridiculous that this would bother you. Its the Home run derby. Players destroy, you enjoy. Who cares who is in it. most years its hard enough to find people to do it anyways...

try getting a bunch of people together and let each person pick 1 player and put in 20 bucks. winner takes all. that made it interesting for me last year.

This is who I want to see in the HR derby: Jenks, Oswalt, Saito, Wagner, Sabathia, Okajima, Fuentes and of course Ichiro.

I agree...Both the slam dunk contest and home run derby are getting watered down...The athletes from each sport are acting like sissies and don't want to participate

The dunk contests suck because it's the "rising star" slam dunk contest, so the guys that are the best dunkers in the league aren't in because they've been around the league too long. If it was just about guys that can dunk it'd be Vincanity, T-Mac, Stoudemire, King James, Kobe, and Josh Smith every year.
