Lack of HR prduction from many big stars this year

Postby Zito is God » Wed Jul 04, 2007 12:46 am

I can't figuire out why guys like Manny, Francouer, D-Lee, etc. simply aren't producing the long ball. They aren't off by a little, they are off by a LOT in terms of where they average and where they will end up if we duplicate the stats from the first half onto the second. What gives?

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

It just happens sometimes unfortunatley. I do think Manny and Lee start hitting more long balls, but I think pitchers may have figured out Jeffy.

It could also be that thing I don't want to bring up...

Lee is coming off a wrist injury...Look at Matsui's numbers.

Hafner's lack of power really bothers me, but he is still walking so it's not a problem of seeing the ball.

If you think about it though, pitchers are more careful with these power hitters than they are other guys throughout the lineup. In an average game these guys may see 1 pitch they can legitimately take out of the park.
