Does anyone have any updated info on when he will be back in the lineup?

Mike DiGiovanna, Times Staff Writer wrote:Left fielder Reggie Willits missed his second straight game because of a bruised right knee and sore shoulder, injuries suffered when he crashed into the wall to make a catch in Anaheim on Wednesday. Willits' knee is sore and swollen, and he spent much of Saturday doing exercises to increase his mobility. He probably won't return until Tuesday in Texas.

Maybe he'll be in the lineup tonight. I'd much rather play him then Abreu or Dye :-L

You're kidding. Willits value lies solely with his SB ability. Before he got injured he hadn't attempted a stolen base in 7 games. With a dodgy knee he has next to no value as he hits for no power at all. Abreu is miles more valubale than Willits.

Willits has plenty runs and a .330 AVG after 212 ABs along with the 18 SBs........I think you are selling him a bit short.

He got his shot when Figgins was down and grabbed it by the stones.

BTW......nice thread name...... ;-D

I doubt Willits lasts much longer in the majors. He has been worse than awful the last 10 games with just 4 hits and an average of .110. His walks have gone down and his K's have sky rocketed over this period as well. But perhaps the most telling stat is that he has only attempted two steals
since June 20 and has been caught stealing in both attempts.

If you have him trade him now for whatever you can get because he won't have value for much longer.

I have him and I'm pretty confident they'll give him some more time. He's much better defensively out there than Garrett Anderson and he gets on base a lot at the top of that lineup (he walks 15% of the time). He was coming off an injury and so he probably needed a few days to get his full burst back, as for the two caught stealings, somebody told me in the other thread that one of them was a pitchout and the other was a perfect throw from Posada, so don't lose hope yet.

He'll be fine.
As for Fetters comments, I disagree with all the harping on the negative because of one disappointing week. Yes his last week sucked, but not last long in the majors? Please! Even Gavin Floyd gets called up sometimes. :-D

Now hitting 9th and starting to sit as well. His days are numbered as a fantasy option.

Scioscia really likes this kid and is/was surprisingly patient with him. But he's simply not producing.
