I am in a 10 team keeper league and we currently keep 12 players, which in my opinion is way too much. The owners are very weary about reducing the # of keepers for the season.

I am suggesting to keep between 4 and 6 players year year.
I have stated that by reducing the number of keepers this will make each year's draft more valuable and will increase trading.

What points can I make to suggest to the league to reduce the number of keepers?

I like 3 keepers

I might go 3 and 2 rookies or something

but 12 just makes the draft too boring

yeah 12 is alot, our league has a minimum of 3 and a max. of 8, this way you have some play as an owner as to who to the # you keep and your not stuck keepng bums. i mean chances are if you were in the bottom 2-3 last year in the standing, you wont have 12 keepers...mine is a 12 team league by the way...

Just do it like you did here. Tell them how you feel and see if you guys can vote on it.

talk up as many positives as you can instead of focusing on the negatives.

Example:

If we keep only 3 then the draft will be fun again and full of talent.

etc etc.

Managers in the league have had the same team for 4 years and don't like to make that many adjustments or trades. Therefore many of the managers would not be in favor of reducing the keepers. What can I say to them?

my league, 14 teams, has it so the first place team to 4th can keep UP TO 10 and then 5th to 9th can keep 12, and then the rest 15.. but honestly, nobody ever does. We have so many extra slots so u can keep ur rookies.. cuz they count against the number.
