biggest snubs Hanley and Maine. Maine didn't even get on the vote in list. Fuentes should get the boot

A few thoughts:

- McCann gets in because he's been the second best catcher in the NL this year. That's pretty sad.
- Freddie Sanchez was honored last year for his batting title. There wasn't a reason to give him another all-star game for it. All that does is take playing time away from Utley and Hudson. Snell or Gorzellany should have been the Pirates rep and Wagner shouldn't be in the game. That would have opened up a position spot for Hanley Ramirez.
- Same goes with Papelbon. Honored last year for a great season. He took a spot away from Escobar.
- It's kind of dumb that the final vote are all pitchers that most likely won't even pitch in the game. Or is there a rule that the final vote players have to play? If that's the case it's even worse because a couple guys who deservingly made the game won't pitch.

I think the rosters look pretty solid though. Those are just minor complaints, and with injuries they'll get it right anyway.

the biggest Ram job is Hanley not being in the game.

In the national league he ranks 8th in batting average, 2nd in runs, 3rd in steals, and his 14 homers is the second most among shortstops.

Wagner and Papelbon both deserve to be selected to play in this game. Among closers, they have some of the best ERA's and WHIP's in the bigs.

If anything, Fuentes should be off the team and replaced by Ramirez.

Almost 1/3 of the leagues closers are in the all-star game. That's ridiculous. Papelbon and Wagner don't deserve to be there. They may have deserving numbers but that's not good enough this year.

Barely...I guess the 25 point higher batting average seals the deal as the "#2", but his stats don't make him all-star worthy either. McCann's 2006 second half has to play into the equation. Again, he was honored last year so there isn't anything to make-up but in this case it's choosing between two guys who both don't really deserve it.
