Should I upgrade at SP or Off???

Postby CineMamet » Sun Jul 01, 2007 5:16 pm

My offense struggled mightily for most of the 1st half as my studs went sour. However, I now have a roster that has players hot as any in the last month (Corey Hart #2 in Yahoo). Some of these may be 2nd half guys, others traditionally aren't (Byrnes). Should I continue to ride the blazing heat or sell high? Give me your forecast for these for the 2nd half. I put commentary so you can share in my thought process. Need your help, guys. Thanks!

C - John Buck
1B - Paul Konerko (finally knocking them out)
2B - Dustin Pedroia (2B, SS) (contact guy, runs, pretty much it)
3B - Garrett Atkins (finally!)
SS - Troy Tulowitzki (rookie was the best SS last week, but what are realistic expectations?)
OF - Matt Holliday (stud as expected)
OF - Alfonso Soriano (miserable first month, as good as any since)
OF - Corey Hart (2nd best in Yahoo last month - 5 tool guy - sell high or keep?)
Util - Travis Hafner (Should I trade him, or will the law of averages make him a must keep?)
Util - Eric Byrnes (We know what usually happens to him. But on pace for 30/30 and .300 avg?! Look at his sit. stats, they're switched. Now bats better on the road, but pathetic against lefties?!!
Ben - Rafael Furcal - Usually a start slow, heat up guy, but he's slow this year, doesn't steal bases, what's the point?
Ben - Raul Ibanez - Great numbers last year, seemed to be heating up before injuries. Again, law of averages.
Ben - Rickie Weeks - Potential stud, is he healthy or playing thru pain? Batting 8th in the lineup, should I just drop him?

SP - Brandon Webb
SP - Brian Bannister (trade? is he going to be a good MLB pitcher?)
SP - Aaron Harang (though he would be better, but not bad by any means)
RP - Billy Wagner (should I punt saves? I have 3 of the best closers so I could probably bring in a stud SP or 2B)
RP - Takashi Saito
RP - Jason Isringhausen (he would be the most expendable)
P - Jeremy Bonderman (always wins, finally putting it together. Keep or sell high?)
P - Bob Howry (picked up for more saves. We'll see what he does)
More pitchers - Ian Snell (SP), Fausto Carmona (SP, Sell high?), Roger Clemens SP (Come on, Rocket), Ted Lilly (SP - window to trade shut already?), Jason Bergmann (SP, horrible outing today. Keep or drop?)
DL - Brett Myers (is he worth keeping? will he close or start?)
DL - Shawn Hill (great numbers until he was hurt)
Hi, I'm Troy McClure! You might remember me from such nature films as "Earwigs: Ewwww" and "Man vs. Nature: The Road to Victory."
