Mariners manager Mike Hargrove resigned Sunday and was replaced by bench coach John McLaren.
Bizarre. After all of this time on the hot seat, Hargrove finally had some job security after the Mariners' strong first half. The 57-year-old Hargrove said he was stepping aside because his "passion has begun to fade" and it would not be "fair to myself or the team" to continue. Hargrove will manage today's game and then be replaced by McLaren on Monday.
