Kinsler injury??

Postby Buttermilk Pancake » Sat Jun 30, 2007 3:05 pm

Jun 29 Kinsler rolled his ankle in Thursday's game and was walking with the aid of crutches following the game, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Recommendation: "It doesn't feel too good," Kinsler said, "but it's something that could be better Friday or I could be out three days or a week." Those in daily leagues will want to reserve Kinsler until he returns. Stay tuned.

Jun 29 Kinsler left Thursday's game against Detroit with a strained left arch, and was on crutches after the game, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Advice: Kinsler, who is currently listed as day-to-day, will be examined on Friday. He told the Morning News that doctors told him his foot could be sore for a day or for a week.

Does anyone know anything more about this?? Is there a chance that he will go on the DL, or will he bounce back pretty quick?? If he's going to be out for a few games I definitely need to pick up a temporary 2B replacement.

I dropped him in my weekly league with Upton coming back. Who knows how long this will linger? Or maybe it will just go away after a few days...
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

dropping him is a bit hasty

I think the dl would be a good move it keeps it from lingering, especially with the all-star break comming up

I don't think it's terribly hasty. The guy was only borderline rosterable as it was. He sat on the free agent wire for weeks when I dropped him the first time, and I'm quite sure he'll be waiting for me if he shows any signs of life after this setback. I dropped him for someone who can help me over the next week or so.

posted this in the other kinsler thread, but all signs are pointing to dl.
they've said if he isn't showing improvement today he will be flown back to dallas for an mri and likely go on the dl.

it's being reported that the pain has moved to the top of the foot.

Thanks for the info, folks.

I won't drop him. Even though his batting avg has been pretty ugly, he certainly has the potential to get hot again. In my league we can only change the rosters on Sunday nights, so I picked up Fontenot while Kinsler is questionable. I have plenty of room to keep him around, though.

Just cut him. My DL is full and Rotoworld is reporting 3-6 weeks with a stress fracture in his foot. It's a shame I had to cut him, but Teixeira and Guardado are stashed on my DL already and I'm in desperate need of saves so can't cut Eddie.

Good luck with your new owner Ian. :,-(
