Andruw Vs. Jermaine

Postby Jschmuck2 » Sat Jun 30, 2007 12:42 pm

Which of these underachieving high-ish draft picks would you rather have? Someone dropped Jones in my league so I burned a waiver claim and grabbed him in exchange for Dye.

Which would you rather have?

While I agree I would rather have jones, this is a terrible argument. Dye has been putting up 25-30 Hrs and 100 Rbis for the past 8 years now. How is that not proven? For people to expect dye to repeat last year was an absurd notion but its not absurd to say that dye is "proven".

I personally would rather have jones because simply put he's put up better numbers the past years. Considering that Dyes and Jones' numbers are very similar right now, i would expect jones to have a better year from here on out...

more proven?

I still remember dye being a hot free agent pick up a couple of years ago unlike Andruw Jones who is always on the middle pack of our draft boards

The only years I can see Dye being a "hot" free agent pick up is 1999 when he had his breakout year, or 2004 when he came off an injury riddled 2003 season. Its either one of those two things or you just play in really shallow leagues (which is your right to do so and I am in no way mocking that decision)...

Again I agree Jones is a better player, but to say that dye is not proven is a big mistake...

Both are proven. Jones is better. End of story. ;-D

Especially with Jermaine's naggy quads as of late, right?

Admittedly I wouldn't be a fan of giving my OF spot to either of them at the moment, but if so I'd prefer Dye over Jones. That seems to be against the current here though.
