Pittsburgh fans walkout?

Postby SpecialFNK » Fri Jun 29, 2007 9:58 pm

apparently the Pittsburgh Pirates fans are planning a walkout?
from rotoworld..
Pirates fans have scheduled a protest fan walkout after the third inning of Saturday night's game against the Nationals.
We weren't going to throw our not-so-considerable weight behind the movement until learning that the Pirates are actually removing message board posts discussing the walkout from the team's website. If the Pirates are going that far to keep people from discussing it, then maybe the protest will do some good after all.

what exactly are they protesting?

Maybe that they've sucked hard for almost 15 straight years?

I wouldn't even bother going to the game. Why would you pay good money and then throw it away to make a point? Just don't even go until they turn things around.

That won't do any good either though. If nobody goes to the games, then the Pirates just get more revenue sharing money.

I'll be interested to see how this works out. They truly do have some sad, sad ownership/management going on over there.

When you mix small market and terrible management you get the Pirates sadly enough.

It's not necessarily terrible management. They are running the organization like a business, and according to Forbes magazine, they earned the 3rd highest profit in baseball behind Florida and the LA Dodgers. They know exactly what they're doing. Trying to make as much money as possible and screwing us fans.

Baltimore planned this too last year didn't they? I think they should start a "Fire Matt Millen" esque campaign, even if it doesn't work it's funny, and keeps the guys name in the news as being horrible.

We're all leaving after the 3rd inning(although I'll be leaving and then going across the street to have bleach blonde fake booby chicks serve me beers as I watch the red sox game) and then returning to their seats to play with their Bob Walk bobblehead dolls. %-6
