I saw him pitch tonight.
I am a Yankee fan and live near New Britain, CT, where the Rock Cats and Thunder were playing two due to a rainout on Thursday. I was stoked to see Joba in Game 1 and Alan Horne in Game 2.
Game 1...Joba Chamberlain v. Alan Swarzak
Swarzak dominated the Thunder and Joba stunk badly. Joba hit the gun for 95 mph at one point early. He K'ed the first two guys and then gave up back to back home runs. The Cats feasted all night on him. Not a good outing. His build was Clemens like. Did not look fat at all. Very solid build. Very, very smooth delivery.
Game 2...Alan Horne v. Yohan Pino.
Getting a 3-0 lead Horne dominated for 2 and 2/3. Then he fell apart, got hurt, I think, and left the game when the Cats tied it up at 3. Pino struggled but showed he can battle. He had the bases loaded against him and escaped giving up a single run.
I left after watching 10 innings total.
My Friendliness bar...recently shrunk from 11.3 to 10mm long!!
