I'd wager that most of the 'drunks' at the ballpark are drunk when they set foot in the stadium. I know any time I've been intoxicated at a game, I've done a majority of my drinking in the parking lot beforehand. With the length of lines and price of alcohol at the ballpark, I couldn't afford to show up stone cold sober and get drunk; nor would I get to watch much of the actual game. They stop serving after the 7th inning, I believe, at Shea, and I don't have a problem with that policy.
Never! There is no reason to ban alcohol at games. Beer brings in way to much revenue for teams, and stupid people will always do stupid things whether they have been drinking or not.

If they replaced beer with weed they could make just as much money and keep the crowd more tame....aint that right towlie?

Marijuana is illegal, and alcohol isn't.

I thought it was like that in all stadiums, but I'm not too sure. But I know it's like that in Toronto. I wouldn't see them banning it. As someone said earlier, I would think it brings too much revenue for teams to get rid of it.
How about making a rule that the only way to buy a beer is to turn in your ticket stub? That way people can have a beer. Baseball will keep revenue. It will be a win for everyone and keep the drunks away.
