Watched him pitched yesterday and he doesn't look that bad. I'm thinking he might be good enough to start but not quite good enough (and subpar run support) to win games either. Even when Mulder comes back...he looks like a better option. Man has this team fallen.
this will sound comletely insane, but I could see Reyes as a by low candidate for the 2nd half (in an NL only league) he has been so unlucky and prone to the one big misakte per game. other than the Detroit shallacking he has not really been blown out. he has talent
I think Reyes loses as many as Cain wins in the second half. Probably 8+.
Sorry folks, he's really that bad. Reyes is the one man Duncan just cannot get through to. He still thinks he can throw belt high fastballs all the time and get away with it. Until he changes his philosophy he will continue to be a AAAA pitcher.
If you're that desperate for a pitcher, I'd consider Maroth before Reyes this year.
Reyes is a killer. His minor league stats were that good , he WILL become a star. It takes some SPs around 300 major league innings to "get it" , and he only has 163.1 IP so far. Don't forget that Roy Halladay had a 10.64 ERA and a 2.20 WHIP in 2000 while he was developing. Reyes also has the worst run support in the majors at 1.95 . He will be a breakout sensation in 2008.

I doubt he does. He has had some really, really unlucky starts. No run supports, blown leads, etc. He only gets 1.95 Runs/game. Thats really horrid, and you can see why it's easy to lose getting that.
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.
The Cardinals are eventually going to heat up and get Reyes a few wins... I think it'd be tough for him to end up like 2-22 or something. I see a record around eh... 5-18 more reasonable. That would mean he'd go 5-8 the rest of the way.
I think he'll be just below .500 the rest of the way. The Cardinals are going to be a better team in the second half, and he's not a bad pitcher. He's just inconsistent. The Cardinals aren't going to be great and he'll be inconsistent but I think he'll be around 6-8 or 7-8 in the second half with a decent ERA and WHIP.
I don't see how he'll lose 20. The run support can't continue to be that bad and if he starts pitching horrible they will send him to the bullpen or minors.
