Anyone know if he's starting today? I heard he missed last night due to a big error the other night, but can't seem to find any news on when he'll be back in the lineup.

He was out of the lineup yesterday so Carroll could start against the lefty Lilly. Carroll had a big game with a HR, two 2B, and 3 RBI.

Nonetheless I still expect Kaz back in the lineup tonight. Don't hold me to it though.

isnt his back hurting too? Since hes not used to playing on turf?? Thought i remember hearing tht somewhere

I don't think it was because he isn't used to playing on turf. I believe it was because he played so many years on turf in Japan and his back is weakened because of it. The Rockies are being careful with him in games played on the artificial surface.

Yeah, Kaz will sit against LHP sometimes. Jamie Carroll will likely get the playing time...did pretty well last night.

I don't think it was because he isn't used to playing on turf. I believe it was because he played so many years on turf in Japan and his back is weakened because of it. The Rockies are being careful with him in games played on the artificial surface.

I find it hard to believe that he was benched because of that error - it was his first of the season (he had another one yesterday, though.)

I read that he has a bad back after years of playing on turf in Japan and likely will take at least one game off per week.

There was a post about him on Yahoo saying he would get at least one game off during the Tor series because playing on Turf helps aggravate his Back problems...
