graham taylor Single A SP.... but the deal fell thru due to money issues.....
FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports that the Jacque Jones-to-Florida deal won't happen, "barring an unexpected reversal."
The Marlins wanted Jones as their primary center fielder, but apparentely the Cubs were quite desperate enough to get rid of him. Either they refused to pay the majority of the $7 million he's still owed or they wanted a better prospect in return if they were going to eat the salary
The Cubs are planning on calling up Billy Petrick for the bullpen after finalizing a Jacque Jones trade.
They'll just keep rushing guys to the majors until one sticks. Petrick, a quality prospect as a starter before injuring his arm, had a 2.37 ERA in 18 relief appearances for Double-A West Tenn. He might be able to make it as a reliever, but it's doubtful he'll be of much use this year.
Braves DD: According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Cubs and Marlins still haven't worked out the terms of a Jacque Jones deal.
The holdup is over the amount of Jones' salary the Cubs will be required to eat. Rosenthal believes it might prove to be a dealbreaker.
