I am joining a new 14 team 5x5 mixed keeper league. I will be picking #14 and #15 and wanted to get thoughts on what I should try to have after those picks (i.e. hitter/hitter, SP/hitter, SP/SP).
My initial thought was to get the best SP and Hitter available. Thoughts on getting 2 hitters or 2 pitchers?
Also, looking at 14 team average draft positions, unless players fall, it looks like I'll be targeting the following players to draft at #s 14 & 15:
Pitchers- Halladay, Schilling, Hudson, Wood, R. Johnson, Mussina
Hitters: Shef, Nomar, Thome, Sosa, B. Boone, Magglio.
I was thinking Wood (maybe Schilling but getting older) and Nomar (maybe B. Boone).

Thanks.
If those players are still left (and I really doubt some of them will be), I would target Nomar and Magglio. For me, the first two rounds you should take the best two hitters available, without much regard for position.
I wouldn't take a pitcher, but if you've got your heart set on one from that group, I'd take Schilling.
How about Vernon Wells? He might fall to you at 14, and would be an excellent pick for you.
Another player that might drop to you is Tejada.
Unless Pedro, Prior (yea, right), Wood, Halladay or Schilling falls to you, I'd focus on hitting. In your next set of picks, hope for Vazquez, and settle for one of Oakland's big 3 or Mussina.
