Travis Lee, Anyone?

Postby Rage » Tue Feb 03, 2004 2:33 am

Does anyone know what is going on with him? Has he signed with anyone, any rumors?

I only ask because although I got him ranked about 26th overall at 1B ,I project he'll hit around .280 with 20 or so HR's and could be a good late pickup in a deep league. With the right team, like STL, he could finish Top 15 amoungst 1B.

Thanks in advance,

Pitt could use him for sure, they got Craig Wilson slated as starter at first.

I know STL is looking at him at 1B and moving Pujols to LF (over their current mediocre options).

If he's looking for a multi-year deal -- he'll probably end up somewhere like Pitt. I think the Cards would just want him for 1-year and look at better LF options next offseason.

i have heard that pittsburgh is considering him or randall simon. i dont think he will sign with st. louis though. even if he does it is possible that he will be in a platoon situation and albert will still spend some time at 1b.

Lee is the steal of this FA period. He is exactly what the Cardinals need. If he goes to St. Louis mark him down for .285-25-90-6 and a bargain backup for mixed leagues.

Travis Lee is a guy who always goes undrafted in my league, but he always ends up on my roster as a fill in at some point during the year. It's always nice to know he'll be there when one of my guys goes down to fill in with numbers that won't drag my team down.

I won't draft him this year at all. He will probably end up with a sucky team, and that will lower his value even more. I'm all for picking him up midseason if he gets hot, but I'm not touching him in my draft
