Advice needed.

I am in a H2H points league with 8 teams. There are 2 divisions with 4 teams in each, only 2 teams from each division make the playoffs. This is also a keepers league, I asked the commish yesterday, and he said "2 or 3" Here is my team.

C - Kenji Johjima
1B - Carlos Pena
2B - Robinson Cano
3B - Alex Gordon (He's a hot pickup at third right now, I need him because of injuries)
SS - Edgar Renteria
OF - Manny Ramirez
OF - Matt Holliday
OF - Bobby Abreu
Util - Alex Rios

Bench - Amaris Ramirez (3B, DL 15)
Bench - Carlos Guillen (SS)
Bench - Akinori Iwamura (3B)
Bench - Mark Teixeira (1B, DL 15)
Bench - Ramon Hernandez (C, DL 15)

P - Trevor Hoffman
P - Daisuke Matsuzaka
P - J.J. Putz
P - Jose Valverde
P - Brandon Webb
P - John Lackey
P - Javier Vasquez (Picked him up for a double start, about to drop)

Bench - Chris Young
Bench - Jon Lester (Hopefully he will be hot again starting for the Sox)
Bench - Chris Carpenter (WTF. should I just drop this guy?)

In order, which 3 should I keep? Also what should I do to improve my team?

I just picked up Rickie Weeks for Jon Lester, I just found out Lester would not be moved up to the the Red Sox.

For your keepers? I would say Holliday, Tex, and Rios

As for what you should do to improve your team, I would try to sell high on Pena + Cano to pick up a quality 2B, slide Gordon over to first and then put A-Ram to start at third. Once Tex comes back Gordon will be a good player to have on your bench.

and why are you considering dropping carpenter? he'll be back within a month.
