Ryan Dempster - no save opp??

Does anyone know why Dempster didn't come in for the 9th inning today against the White Sox? The Cubs were up by one run going into the bottom of the 9th, textbook situation for a closer, but Bob Howry got sent out instead. Yes, Dempster pitched yesterday, but only for one relatively easy inning (no-save situation, 1K, no hits or walks). That was the first time he had pitched in 3 days so he shouldn't have sat today for a tired arm in my opinion. Any thoughts/news on this situation?
