From Rotoworld:
Jermaine Dye was held out of Saturday's game because of his sore right quad.

Dye wasn't even used in the ninth with the White Sox down by one, as the club instead hit Alex Cintron for Juan Uribe (which qualifies as a downgrade every time Ozzie Guillen tries it). Dye might have ended up on the DL today had Darin Erstad managed to stay healthy. He could sit again Sunday before giving it another go next week.Jun. 23 - 4:32 pm et

update from Rotoworld...
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/player ... LB&id=2233

Jermaine Dye-OF- White Sox Jun. 23 - 8:56 pm et
The White Sox likely will place Jermaine Dye on the DL and recall Ryan Sweeney prior to Sunday's game.

Dye aggravated his strained quad Friday and wasn't even available as a pinch-hitter today, so it looks like he's going to need a couple of weeks off. Sweeney will likely play fairly regularly in his place. He could also see time in center when the White Sox use Rob Mackowiak in right field.

excerpt from Nathaniel Whalen's blog on Chicago Sun-Times website (Rotoworld's source):

"Dye DL-bound (believe it), so why bring up Sweeney?"

Jermaine Dye is going on the DL. He fully expected it today, will expect it tomorrow and knows that a few days off won’t help his strained quad. If not Sunday, then soon, he’ll be gone.

The Sox called Podsednik believing Dye was going on the DL, and the only reason they didn't do it today is because Erstad needed to go and they didn't have anyone else ready...

The most up-to-date information I have is that he is NOT going to go on the DL. They were going to deactivate him, but then Erstad got hurt. So now they are going to see if they can give him a few days off and hope he can play again before the break (see the link in my post above). It's a stupid plan for the Sox (they really should just get him the rest he needs--it would actually be perfect to just write off the first half and have him come back after the break fully healthy).
