We have a defunct team in our 10 team keeper. I am considering disbanding his team and evenly distributing his players to the remaining 9 teams. We would want to grab another owner to join the league but we cannot agree on anyone to take over his team and no one wants an outsider to join. it is only a 4 year keeper so we can survive 3 years and then re-establish. we keep 6 players and 2 rookies. i would have 9 groups of players and we would just grab numbers out of a hat to determine who gets which group.

how do you now who is the worst team? the standings are so volatile one could be in last and three days later shoot up to 4th. i would say random draft order but my team and 2 others are really head and shoulders above i dont know if that would be fair. could we just dead the team and let the players fall back into the draft next season? or is it better to have all the players available for trading and whatnot?

Really, the only 'fair' way is to let the players stay on the dead team, and draft them next season. It's very unfortunate, but there's no fair way to distribute them.
I don't believe in disbanding a team. If it's dead then just lock it up for the rest of the season. Players cannot be evenly distributed and it is unfair to teams that are doing well.

Yup. If you go by current standings, 95% of the time a draft will simply reward lazy/dumb owners.
but all we are doing is delaying this rewarding. someone is going to get soriano in a draft, and it will be a bad team. why not get it over with now so we have a full field of players available for trading and keepers. if we wait until next years draft, someone will still be getting a top 5 player when the next best player will be well below that....the post-keeper draft will still be populated at the top with all his players. i would rather get it done now and have a clean 9 teams rather than a 10 team league with a totally dead team.
disbanding a team would be your worst move--It really coul mess up the league big time.
Your best bet, and what most people do in these situations(Ive been in one) is just lock the team for the rest of the season. The players will be locked until next season's draft.
