Nothing like the good ol' "Player to be named later" deal. Not to mention reports say its for a guy who had arm surgery and trouble last year. I cant figure this one out at all. Great deal.........sheeeesh. :t

O ye of little faith. In Dombrowski we trust!!

Besides, not all "players to be named later" are garbage. Let's not forget that Jeremy Bonderman was the PTBNL in the Jeff Weaver trade.

BTW, Who is the rumored player the Tigers are supposed to get???

Dombrowski has said that the player to be named will not be an upper tier prospect, but a player that might make it to the show. He didn't specify pitcher or position player.

It is both sad and encouraging to see Maroth traded. Sad because he was one of the sacrificial kitties of '03 and was brave in his approach to an horrific season that culminated in 119 loses for the Tiges and 21 Ls for Maroth. He was a stand up guy who never pointed fingers despite all of the garbage that was going on during those dark days. It is a dignified trade in that the Tigers gave him to a team where he will get a chance to start.
The facts of the matter are that Maroth had no future with this team. It is encouraging to see DD make a tough trade instead of hold onto a fan favorite, thereby clogging up a rosteer spot for more deserving players. Good luck Mike Maroth.
