Jim Thome..Will he miss the Cubs series also?

They claim he wants to return for the Cubs series..But for what, 3 AB's overall.. You know he's hurting when they could not even pinch hit him in a few tight games over the last 10 days. He's killing me with 9 AB's in the last 2 weeks..Is he cooked to the point where he will sit out multiple games then have some pinch hit situations?
