HELP WITH MY TEAM PLEASE (IMPORTANT & 100% WHIR)

Postby RotoRook » Fri Jun 22, 2007 12:58 pm

I need immidiate help on how I can improve my team. I am currently in 2nd place and just a .5 point behind the 1st place team. I enclosed a comprehensive list of the 1st Place and 2nd Place (My Team) team rosters. In addition, below the 2 team rosters, I enclosed potential current trade scenarios with other teams and the current league categories. Hopefully all this information is useful when providing your thoughts and opinions. Based on scenarios below, maybe you guys can help me put a trade together, or possibly look at my team and see what I can move to gain elsewhere or what I shouldnt move. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Current Trade Scenarios
1-I am interested in getting Jose Reyes from this one team, but that specific team wants to talk Guerrero, Ramirez, Hawpe or Teixiera. Other players I like from his team are Victor Martinez, Brian Roberts, Gary Matthews, David Ortiz, Joe Blanton, Justin Verlander, Dan Wheeler

2-Another team wants Shane Victorino for me. The only players I like from his team are Jorge Posada, Albert Pujols, Orlando Cabrera, BJ Upton, K-Rod, Brian Fuentes, Mariano Rivera.

3-Another team wants a stud like Vlad. I like from his team are Carlos Guillen, Ian Kinsler, Michael Cuddyer, CC Sabathia, Johan Santana, Chris Ray, Eric Gagne, Joe Nathan.

4-Another teams wants Kelly Johnson, Russell Martin, Josh Beckett, James Shields. I like from his team are Paul Konerko, A-Rod, Marcus Giles, Miguel Tejada, JJ Hardy, Vernon Wells, Bobby Abreu, Billy Wagner, Bobby Jenks, Brad Hennessey

5-Another team is looking for starters and likes most on my team, specifically Bonderman and Beckett. The only players I like from him are Carlos Pena, Derrek Lee, Dan Uggla, Alfonso Soriano, Grady Sizemore, Carlos Lee, Edwin Encarnacion, John Lackey, JJ Putz, Kevin Gregg, Ryan Dempster, David Weathers

I say go ahead and go after a Reyes/Ichiro type of player. They will get SB's and Runs and thats kinda what you need right now.

i would go after Sizemore on team 5. He will help your team in SB, but, unlike with Reyes, you could probably get him without giving up a 1st or 2nd rounder. Maybe offer Beckett and Bonderman along with Francouer. I would also play Victorino more for his SB. Who is on waivers or are free agents for SP in your league?

I would try to get Grady sizemore for Bonderman. Grady can get you the steals that you need plus so much more. You already have a lot of great outfielders, so you my be able to swing another deal after this trade and score another pitcher. Everyone is high on Hart, so maybe you can sell him to someone. Or trade one of your bigger stars for a big time pitcher. There are so many options that you have right now that pulling the trigger is going to be difficult. Just go with what you feel comfortable with.

Jesus that's a lot of info.

I'd try to get Reyes or Sizemore. I would trade Manny Rameiriz or Tex for Reyes if there is any chance he would go straight up, which I can't imagine. You would need to add in another player. I'd add in a closer, since you're not going to catch him there. You may lose one point in that cat, but you should be able to maintain after that with two closers, and if you are careful, you could find a third later in the season... maybe Lidge comes back again?

I wouldn't trade SP, as you are not as solid there to start.

try the guy that wants Hawpe. Trade him Hawpe for Roberts, that will give you a couple extra SB and you can use Johnson at OF. This is alot cheaper then going to Reyes. Also see if you can get sizemore and some medium SP for Vladdy. You seem be have plenty of solid big bats, you just need a couple more guys that are going to help Avg, Runs and SB. Since Vlady is losing his SB every season...he might be the one to go...
