There could be throwing in September, but he could be out for all of 2004. When he gets healthy (2005?) he should be at least a decent pitcher or better.

He was supposed to be a super stud in the making, with the way surgery has become quite common, I wouldn't be suprised to see a dominating comeback in 05.

he had limited pitching experience to begin with(converted 1B i believe) now he is going to have a year off and come back from surgery. ill stay away for a while.

It's too bad that 2 of SF's best pitching prospects had injury plagued rookie seasons. Most picked Foppert and Ainsworth to be good last year, but Foppert blew out his arm and Ainsworth broke his shoulder blade (how the hell did he manage that??). Jerome Williams turned out to be their only young brightspot.

I'd consider Foppert for 2005, but not at all for this season.
