Fantasy Spin: Barrett's days in Chicago were clearly numbered after his fight with Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano earlier in June. Josh Bard has been starting almost every day behind the plate for San Diego. It's unlikely that Barrett will overtake Bard, at least right away, but a platoon seems likely. Petco Park is a big drop from Wrigley Field when it comes to hitter's parks, which hurts Barrett.

So Barrett's value now would appear to be about equal to the value of a Kevin Federline CD. Bard's value I assume takes a small hit short term.

They've made amends. I think the media would hype it up to something it's not though. I don't think there will be any ill feelings between the players (even Barrett and Zambrano) next time they meet.
