Should this have been vetoed?

Postby jealousblues » Wed Jun 20, 2007 3:02 am

12 team h2h

ok here is the deal.

a couple of weeks ago I was looking for a 3b, and another owner sent me this proposal:

he would trade his Beltre for my Delgado.

Well I didnt do it...

then he picked someone off WW and I picked up Beltre.

then after a couple of weeks or so I traded Beltre for Bedard and he is kind of complaining

he objected to it, saying

"I DO have problems with Beltre for Bedard though. Beltre's been dropped three times in my two leagues. No way is he worth a number one starter."

and now

"I'm cursing being gone so much lately. That trade should've been vetoed. Oh well. "

look, I think I got a good deal in this. (I had like 4 3bs and needed pitching badly and he had none)
but I dont think Bedard is a number one FBB pitcher.

I used this arguement to support it (Ok it was lame...and i even admited it was because I used Yahoos ranking to support it )

"in a quick defense of that trade (late just got back from working a wedding all day)
This is quick and less than scientific
but yahoos ranking system has

Beltre 125 (orank) 154 (so far)
Bedard 136 (Orank) 163 (so far this season)
"

Oh, I thought this was good too...

another owner said:

"Well, if you're going by that, over the past month, the ranks are...
Adrian Beltre - 230
Erik Bedard - 53
Which would make Bedard the 15th ranked pitcher and Beltre the 26th ranked 3B over that time."

so I told him:

"and over the last month Carlos Beltran is ranked 731
Ill do you a favor and trade you Beltre for him though "

srry, I thought that was funny

What's the point of this post? Whether the Beltre for Bedard trade should've been vetoed? No, it shouldn't have. And what does this other guy care? :t
