Dodgers need Dunn. Dodgers have a pretty good BA for a team. People get on base, they just need that big banger in the lineup to bring them home. Dunn can provide that!
Man this FA class stinks. I take stab at a couple.
Carlos Zambrano - I think the Cubs will re-sign him unless the Mets just unload an obscene amount of money. As a Cubs fan, all thoses losses might be getting to him too though.
Ichiro - Boston. Don't ask me where they'll get the money, but I think they'll dump Drew, Pena and Lugo to someone else to help pay for him. Imagine Ichiro and Youkilis in front of Ortiz and Manny.
Abreu - Houston. I have absolutely no reason why. I just see him returning to the team that drafted him, and they could use at the top of their order.
Jones - Toughest to call. I'll take the Cardinals. They need to replace Edmonds and Pujols won't like being sandwhiched between Spezieo and Duncan again.
Hey ACS you and I think alike at least when it comes to the Dodgers. While they need a bat, their farm system is very deep and the young guys have proven that they can replace the vets well. So while I think they need a big bat, I don't think they're going to want to pay for it, and they have a lot of competition. On the other hand, their pitching staff gets a lot more credit than it deserves, in that Schmidt is a real question mark now and since they have to pull all these other guys into the rotation as a result (Kuo, Billingsley), they have a paper thin bullpen, what with Saito on a one-year contract. If Broxton takes over as closer, you've got Hendrickson as setup man, and your seventh-inning guy is Tomko?
So I agree they go after a starter to put one of their high-K low-reliability guys (Kuo, Billingsley) back into an MR role.
