Would this be a good job to go for:
"Top Wall Street firm(in Manhattan?) is currently hiring Stockbroker Trainees. No Experience required. Must have strong work ethic and the desire to succeed. Work side by side with some of the top producers in the business. If hired, you would be sponsored for your Series 7 and 63 license and then begin our extensive sales training program. Six figure potential within the first 18 months. Salary + Bonuses to start. Interested candidates call and set up an interview. "
Of course, there's no mention of salary/bonus estimate. if I get called to set up an interview, I would have to fly there/rent hotel etc and if I get hired, I would have to relocate. It just sucks that there's nothing that I'm EXTREMELY interested here in San Diego and the good jobs are there in NYC. My ultimate goal is to become a portfolio manager/financial advisor and possibly an analyst.

sounds like a lot of coldcalling to me, but i could be wrong. definitely try to find out more about exactly what you would be doing and if it matches what kind of experience you want.

It looks like a cold calling job to me with most of your pay based on commissions. Look for jobs in LA. There are a lot more financial companies compared to SD. But if you really want to pursue this type of job, then you should be in NYC.
