I highly doubt he'll get THAT many, but I guess if he goes on a tear its possible. I think around 23-26 is much more realistic.
Right now, he is the clear ROTY in th NL and has been for some time.
What?
I am not sure how many ABs a rookie needs to qualify but he doesn't meet the requirements for rookies, though I suspect that there's something wrong with ESPN's stats because only Tulo and Chris Young qualify for the NL award as of now.
When looking at the unqualified rookies with 100 ABs, I'll take the guy who has the 3rd most ABs of NL rookies. He also leads all NL rookies in RBI, has by far the best AVG of any rook with 100 ABs (only Reynolds is even within .070), leads NL in both 2B and 3b, and has 5 SBs. His 7 HR is 3rd in the NL. His slugging % is .949, leading all rooks with 100 AB by at least .122. His name is Hunter Pence.
Ryan Braun, who has 93 AB on the season, has better AVG/OPS. It is obviously too small a sample size to be considered but if he can continue on the current pace, he would be in the running.
"To let you know how far I've come, let me tell you where I've been.
Not that long ago, there were nights I went to sleep in strange places praying I wouldn't wake up. After another night of bad decisions, I'd lie down with my heart speeding inside my chest like it was about to burst through the skin. My thinking was clouded, and my talent was one day closer to being totally wasted. "

I read that in the mag the other day... i thought it was a surprisingly good read. Takes a lot for him to deal with that everyday and then still go play ball.
