It is a faux magazine I created to herald the exploits of our fantasy league. Well, this year I decided to make a cover highlighting a team each month. As you can see, it is slowly improving, but I was wondering if anyone here has suggestions on how to improve it next month. I only have photoshop 6, so I am a little limited, but any advice would be great.

the jersey switches are nice. only thing i could suggest is that some of the red on ARod is a little bright. other then that it looks like a real nice mag. cover
Here is the July Issue. I seem to have problems when the player's face is low on the layout. Just seems like it is difficult to fit in the teaser text.
I put some text above the masthead, but over Magglio's hands. Should I have put solid color behind it, or put it behind his hands? I also added a drop shadow to the main text. Let me know what you guys think, and if you have any suggestions for future fronts.
Very nice work. I used to do something similar to one of my leagues. I doubt I can found the files now, otherwise I would post them. Either way, they are not nearly as good as the ones posted in this thread.
August issue is out. Tried a different idea, using a studio photo over an in game photo. I love the feel of it. The only downside is, it is tough to find a lot of these advertising pictures in High Res. I lucked out with Pujols.
September features my team, so I took a lot of time with this one. One little thing I changed was I got rid of the bevel on the masthead and replaced it with an outline. Second, and this was a real breakthrough for me, was the shading of the uniform text. I've been having difficulties making the text more natural on the uniform. I never really was able to get the letter to contour with the wrinkles and rolls of the jersey. This time, I think I got the shading close enough that the text seems to flow smoothly into the different shades of the jersey.
PLease let me know what you guys think, and if you have any suggestions on improvements.
