my iTunes preorder came through 15 minutes ago. I wasn't able to find anything early through my usual services, so I am hearing it all new for the first time. So far it gets Any other Stripes fans in here?

I like a few of their songs. I only listened to the title track of this one and it was OK. I'll probably listen to some more of it today if I can find a torrent.

They were on Conan last night and performed Icky Thump and another new one called Effect and Cause.

Big fan of their sound, but after hearing the new single on the radio a bunch of times, its really annoying me now (not from overplay so much as the song isn't that good). I'll give the cd a few listens though before I write it off.

That's how I felt about them when they first came out.
I'll give the new album a listen and see if they can change my mind.

I would say the title track is the 4th/5th best song on the CD...similar to Elephant where Seven Nation Army got the most radio play, but to me it was probably 5th/6th best song on it...
