HICAGO - Jermaine Dye paid a price for making one of the best plays of the season.
Dye has a slight strain of his right quad after sprinting and diving, full extension, near the right-field line, to rob Florida\'s Jeremy Hermida of an extra-base hit in the fourth inning Monday night.
After the catch, Dye sprung to his feet and fired accurately to first base to double-up Miguel Cabrera, who had been running on the pitch.
Dye, who made another diving catch in the first to take a hit away from Hanley Ramirez, said he first injured his quad over the weekend at Pittsburgh. After his second dive Monday, he felt much more soreness and left the game in the next half inning. Dye is day-to-day.
