Baltimore should haul in Eddie Murray to be Managaer. That would be funny.

Olney just said on ESPN radio that Girardi will most likely be given a choice of whether to manage the O's or not. He didn't say anything about Mattingly.

First of all, it's not a given that Torre is out.

More importantly, I can't see Girardi getting the job over Mattingly, barring some enormous roster shakeup. I just don't see him having the same ability to command a team of high-ego stars the way that Donnie Baseball could.

I thinks people are getting confused here. Any canadians posting here? The postal mule will be along any month now to get your overdue igloo mortgage.

Anyhoo...what I think people are implying is that Girardi can have the O's job if he wants it, but he may wait for the Yanks job.Donny Baseball is nowhere in sight for the O's, but of course this had to turn into a Yankees thread.

I was talking about the Yanks. When Joe leaves it will not be Giradi in pinstripes (some said that he is waiting for that job and he will pass on Baltimore).

Rotoworld:
Joe Girardi seemed excited about the possibility of becoming Baltimore's manager after being interviewed Tuesday.
According to FOXSports.com, while Girardi he did not receive a formal offer to be the team's next manager, he remains the overwhelming frontrunner for the position. If he wants the job, it's very likely going to be his.

I love the idea of Girardi managing the O's. ;D
