Torii Hunter taken out...

Hit on the hand by Suppan. Wanted to stay in the game but his hand was already visibly swollen by the time he got to first base. :t :o

from MLB.com:

In more good news for the Twins, Hunter's injury ended up being just a bruised left hand with a popped blood vessel that caused a large bump on the top of his hand.

"It was scary, I saw it growing like on Tom and Jerry," Hunter said.

Hunter expects to play tomorrow when the Twins start a three-game series against the Mets at Shea stadium.

Does this mean he can be counted on for the week? Any Twins locals with updated news?

I'm not a Twins local, but I hear he should be in the lineup tonight.

I completely believe you ROC, just curious what your source is ... I am debating between starting Torii Hunter or plugging in Jose Guillen for this week ...

Just a blurb in Sandbox, here is the reference... sounds like its more Hunter saying he can play than anything. As I have no better options, I'm going with him either way...

"Torii Hunter expects to play Monday after leaving Sunday's game due to a bruised left hand.
Hunter was injured when he was hit by a Jeff Suppan pitch today."

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if its the right or left hand?
