I agree. I love the guy, but he's killing me. And why was he playing 1B, at home the other day?? I can understand getting him out there every now and then to keep him sharp, but since they've played interleague games the past 2 weeks, he's played plenty. I hope this day off or 2 kicks him in the butt. Cuz I'm toast unless he starts hitting like he has the past 3 years!!!!!

I pulled this from the Indians site:

Wedge bumped the struggling Travis Hafner down to the fifth spot of the lineup in the first two games of the weekend set with the Braves. On Sunday, Wedge bumped him out of the lineup altogether, giving Pronk's mind and body a rest.

Hafner is 5-for-30 over his last eight games and has no homers and just two extra-base hits in June.

"I've watched a lot of video and worked a lot in the cage," Hafner said. "It's more of a feel thing than a mechanical thing. I'm still working to get the same feel at the plate. I'm not far off."

Sounds encouraging!! Figgins blew up after he sat for 2 days. Even Sexson got a little hot after he did the same!!

All joking aside about Pronk's gender, this guy is TOO GOOD not to get it rolling SOON. The manager in my league is too smart to trade him (Hafner is a classic BUY LOW PLAYER). In some leagues he is 1B eligible. Pick him up now if you can. When he gets it rolling, LOOK OUT! Trade for him if possible and wait for the rewards late in the season.

I'd agree Hafner is a buy low. I'd suspect he and his hitting coach are getting a lot of face time right now. My analysis:

Dudes, It really sucks when early rounders go through slumps. But it does happen. Pronk is a beast. He'll right the ship sooner than later.

HAFNER IS OUT OF THE LINEUP AGAIN TODAY! What the hell is going on??? This is more than just a "rest." He must have some sort of injury. His great season continues!
