Is this guy any good?

I think he's a couple of years away from being a factor. He didn't fare so well in his first taste of the big leauges in Arizona, but his triple A numbers aren't bad.

He'll get a shot at the rotation during spring training, but he should be back in AAA when the season starts.

IMO, he just needs more experience. During spring training last year, most scouts were saying that Edgar Gonzalez had the best "stuff" in the d'back's camp. That's a pretty high compliment. He just needs to learn how to put it all together.

In 2003 he was ranked above Webb in the Ariz system. But he does need one more year in the Minors. My guess is if he wins a job out of spring, he will struggle and probably not have very much mixed league fantasy value. Maybe NL only though. ;-D
