Rank these injured SPs -- Hudson, Oswalt and Mulder

Postby wp001g » Sat Jan 31, 2004 9:10 am

All 3 were injured last year. Mulder with his hip/leg, Oswalt with his groin, and Hudson at the end of the playoffs. Anyone have any thoughts on whether they have heard these injuries will linger? I think probably only Oswalt's injury has the ability, the other should probably have a clean bill of health and should be selected without any abnormally higher risk of injury. With that said, based on my thoughts for next years performance in a 5x5 league are this:

1. Oswalt, think his K's propel him higher, should rake in the Wins
2. Hudson, WHIP will increase and run support will be diminished
3. Mulder, Stats should improve slightly and same run support problems as Hudson

I would put them

Hudson
Oswalt
Mulder

But wouldn't mind having any of them on my team.

I'm gonna have to go with....

Mulder
Oswalt
Hudson

-Mulder just knows how to get the job done
-Oswalt injured his groin which tends to be a reaccuring injury among power pitchers
-Hudson is good but not as many K

Well ive seen other pitchers come out from groin injuries the next year and do well. I think the problem last year was that Oswalt was rushed twice to start for Houston. Id sayo Oswalt doesnt get injured this time around and gets K´s, era and whip over the other 2. He also has a better offense behind him but really i just think Oswalt is more dominant than the other 2. The again i would undersand someone being weary of him cause he´s a small guy who throws maybe too hard for his own good, but at least for this year id take the risk

i would normaly put oswalt over mulder but i really doubt he'll go all season without getting hurt BUT becuase he doesnt have to carry his whole teams pitching this season he might do better
