Matsui didn't win, because Berroa was just as good with the bat, but much better with glove.

Matsui 788 ops
Berroa 777

Matsui RC/27 5.44
Berroa RC/27 5.29

Berroa played a more critical tougher position ss, to lf, and played it better. Nothing wrong with Berroa as ROY. Nomo, Sasaki, Ichiro won ROY. Those 3 had huge years. Matsuis was good, not huge.

I believe that if not for Matsui being left off of some ballots, he would have won. I could be wrong though. If that's the case, he should have won ROY.

Berroa was left off 2 ballots as well. You can argue Berroa/Matsui were a toss up. No one got ripped off, it was simply real close.

Larson isn't eligible I don't believe. Has more than 130 career AB's, which I believe is the rookie max standard.

I think it's 130 AB's in one season.

Even so, Larson was pretty bad last year. I think he caught whatever disease Adam Dunn has. Hopefully he doesn't room with Griffey on road trips, or else he might be due for a couple DL trips next year too.

And Greinke most likely won't be called up until September, if at all.

ROY is the hardest award to pick. It's usually won by guys not on anyone's top 5 list. I will wait till spring ends to decide. How will Bays recovery look then? Will Jackson still be the #5, which might not be enough starts to win it? Any surprises break camp in AL to challenge Crosby? Look at last year? Were Webb, Willis, Pods, Berroa, Gerut on any ROY lists? Matsui was about the only one who was.
