Just added Salty since I traded away Johjima and need a C since Barrett is sitting Saturday. ATL plays a day game SAT @ CLE (PByrd) so Salty better play!!

Salty hits LHP pretty well so I could see ATL using him at 1B vs LHP while Thorman plays vs RHP.

His defense isn't that great (e.g. FLA stole 5 off him)

Just curious when McCann sits besides the day game after night game.

as another atlantian, i agree that mccann will not go anywhere.

and kaiser, andruw isnt going anywhere, he is a 10 - 5 guy.

and ive heard numerous times that salty is the better defensive catcher. how many passed balls has mccann let get by lately? they say salty is a CATCHER in every aspect. and up until the last handful or steal attemps, salty hasnt made bad throws.

Andruw will OK any trade that includes a new deal and extension to his liking.

no way, he always said he would not negotiate a contract in the middle of the season. so he will finish the season in atlanta. he will be gone next year though.

Any update on Salty??? He has been the odd man out the past few games. Thorman is heating up as well as Mcann.

I caught a piece of the game on ESPN last night and the announcers were talking about him possibly getting dealt before the deadline? Any info? He needs to start somewhere no?

...somewhere, on other planets, actual "Beasts" are referring to each other as "Brauns."

I haven't heard any speculation about a trade but I saw that Bobby Cox said he wants him to play more...possible catch every fifth or sixth day and spell Thorman at 1B...but Salty is on the wrong side of the platoon there.
